Michalski 1 Amanda Michalski Zach Petrea English 101 Sep. 1, 2010 Expensive Wine Anyone We live in a consumer culture. When selecting a product we keep in mind what is fashionable, hip, and in style. When purchasing a product we are sending a message to others around us about are decisions as consumers. The products we buy express to people around us who we want to be. This is why advertising a product is so important, getting people to ask themselves “Why should I buy this?” is the number one goal. The magazine Elle is a fashion magazine targeted toward female readers ages 25 to 35. One of Elle’s main goals is to display the latest high fashion and expensive items to their readers. The magazine is a large forum sold worldwide. Elle sells magazines in America, France, Germany, Greece, UK, and many other European countries. The magazine puts out an issue once a month for their readers. The content that is included in Elle is articles written by top fashion designers and stylist. Fashion designers like Vera Wang, Lois Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, and Michael Kors have been around for years and they often write about what is to be expected next fashion season. Also, famous stylist like Joe Zee write about fashion tips that could help the everyday reader feel
