Permission Slip Fall, 2010 Dear Professor Elisabeth Gidengil, Your student, Adeline Collot (ID# 260415531), is also enrolled in EAPR250, a 3-credit course in academic writing open to students across the university. EAPR250 is designed to improve academic writing skills by giving students as much individualized attention as possible and by providing them with the opportunity to learn how to edit and revise their compositions. One of the requirements of the course is a 10-12 page research essay. The primary object of this assignment is not to increase students' knowledge of the discipline, but to develop their writing and critical thinking skills. Thus, instructors of EAPR250 permit students to work on, and submit for evaluation, a paper that has been assigned by, and will be submitted for, another course in which the student is concurrently registered.
