Unformatted text preview: The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology Computer Lab 1 In this lab we will learn how to run Minitab and how to use Minitab to describe some data. Getting started 1. Log onto the PC and select Start > Programs > Minitab 14 for Windows > Minitab to run MINITAB Release 14. 2. The Minitab window will appear. Within it are two smaller windows – the top one is called the Session window and the bottom one is called the Data window. 3. To get Minitab to execute commands, such as calculating the sample mean or plotting some data, you can use the pull down menus. It is also possible to type commands in the Session window. 4. The Data window displays the data set you’re currently using. Minitab calls this the current worksheet. Data input • Input from the keyboard: Click on the Data window, then go to the appropriate location in the worksheet and enter the data from the keyboard. • Input from a text file: File > Other Files > Import Special Text ....
