History 123 Study Guide for February 1 st  exam The exam consists of two parts, an essay and 22 multiple-choice questions.  Paper will be provided. Essay Question :  The following questionwill be asked on the in-class exam: How were the social, economic, and political situation of English citizens’ lives changed by their settlement in  British North America?  Why did settlement in this new land alter these old customs?  Did any aspects  of their lives remain the same? Multiple Choice:   In addition to the questions asked on each  America:  A Concise History  chapter’s reading  guide, the following questions on   Thinking Through Our Past   (Hollitz), the films, and the lectures might be  covered on the exam. Discussion:  Hollitz, Chapter One Why do textbooks written in different times tell  different stories? How do attitudes about Native Americans change
