History 123 Study Guide for March 5 th   exam The exam consists of two parts, an essay and 22 multiple-choice questions.  Paper will be provided. Essay Question :  One of the following questions will be asked on the in-class exam: Why did some American colonists protest and then rebel against British rule of the thirteen colonies? How did the European-American males who founded this country reconcile the subordinated position  in society of women, Africans, and native peoples with their belief that “all men are created  equal”? Multiple Choice:   In addition to the questions asked on each  America:  A Concise History  chapter’s  reading guide, the following questions on   Thinking Through Our Past   (Hollitz), the films, and the  lectures might be covered on the exam.
