Emily Hollander AAST200 Blog 1 9/10/08 The two blog entries I chose to review are “Is there another Anti-Asian Political Contribution Smear Campaign Happening Again? from the Asian American Studies blog and “ The Double Eyelid Dilemma ” from angryasianman.com. Although the themes of both articles are drastically different they shared one similarity, reaction to discrimination faced by Asian Americans. The first article discusses the Clinton-era allegations made regarding “communist Chinese supposedly donating moneys to the Clintons in exchange for favorable terms for the mainland Chinese government and a loosening of nuclear restrictions.” (aast.wordpress.com) Because of this many Asian Americans were ostracized leading them to withdraw from the American political arena. Furthermore, the conservative blog drudgereport.com recently posted about Asian Americans with modest incomes donating large sums to the Democratic Party. Although it was not a blatant racist attack the negative connotations associated with the post
