11.4 Circuits Lab IV: Soldering and Kit Assembly See the course website for any last minutes changes: ( http://courses.utexas.edu ) Due beginning of lab (1 for each person) Before coming to lab, review these on-line resources for learning to solder or find your own using a web-search: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldering http://www.instructables.com/id/E30LR180T4EWP872BS/?ALLSTEPS (This site contains videos which you may find helpful.) Lab Goals By the end of this lab, students will: Learn how to solder electronic components to a “printed circuit” board. Learn how to use tools to build the siren and flashing LED circuit. Equipment Needed You will be given a kit to assemble along with the following tools and instrument: 1. Soldering iron, stand, solder, and solder wick 2. Multimeter 3. Screwdrivers, wire cutters, and pliers At the completion of this lab, the assembled kits, tools, and multimeter are yours to keep. Due at the end of lab: Demonstration of your assembled and working kit. Lab Procedures
