Don’t be shy about asking for clarifications. The back of the quiz contains the LC-3 micro-architecture diagram, ISA summary and TRAP Vector description. 1) (6 points) It is 2016. You are teaching CS310 using the LC-4 described in the 3 rd edition of P&P (at the moment we’re using LC-3 from the 2 nd edition). Words are 24 bits (rather than 16 bits) wide. There are 60 opcodes and 32 registers. Everything else is the same . a) How many bits would be available for the immediate fields in the ADD and AND instructions? b) Using the notation 2 n , how many memory locations away from the PC can a branch instruction reach? 2) (6 points) The following program is supposed to shift R3 to the left by four bits, but it has an error in it. Identify the error and give the corrected code. Recall that adding a value to itself has the same effect as a shift left once. .ORIG
