Unit 5 Lesson 7 - Poetry of the Civil War Activity  Lesson Objective:  In this lesson, the student will evaluate primary sources for the author's main point, purpose  and perspective. Analyze and compare two Civil War era poems by locating them on the internet or the local library. The two poems  are:  "O Captain, My Captain" by Walt Whitman and "War is Kind" by Stephen Crane The first step in this activity is to find these two poems. Your local library will have them or you may want to do a  search on the internet. To find the two poems on the internet go to a search engine, such as Google. Type in the
