New Markets- goods could be shipped to areas that were remote before because of  transportation c. Raw Materials- the U.S. had a lot of raw materials at their disposal d. Workforce- U.S. had a large workforce made up of immigrants, former slaves and war  veterans who did not want the farm life 3. What material was essential to the production of capital goods? Steel 4. Write a short paragraph explaining the connection between interchangeable parts and mass  production. (5) The connection between mass production and interchangeable parts is that two men  came up with the idea that incorporating mass production would be a faster and more efficient way to  produce parts. Someone else came up with the idea of interchangeable parts so that one part can be  universal and fit into lets say every car. So if some part of your car messed up then you could pull that  part from another car like it and not have to go to the factory to have another one built. The  connection is that with mass production the production of something is split up and broken down into  small task for those on the production line. With the efficiency that helped bring people were able to  make interchangeable parts and make them right
