My goal is to get my Bachelors Degree, with that I mind next step is the development of an action plan to achieve that end. This class GEN 105 has been a major help in the way of structuring my time and energies to those ends. While I am in school the lessons I have learned in this class will help me to be a better student. The following is my student’s survival Guide and personal action plan for a successful means through school. The first thing that a student should get similar with is the environment in which they are learning. For students such as myself who have chosen to do their schooling in a distance learning environment becoming familiar with the Axia College’s Educational Resources is essential for an optimal learning experience while in class. The first thing that a student should do is familiarize themselves with the online student Library. Learning how to navigate the online student Library is a critical step for ones success in a distance learning environment. The good thing about using the online student Library is that information is always available anytime. The bad news is that if you’re not a selective sifter of information then you can get lost in too much information. Another good resource that a student should familiarize themselves with is the Center for Math Excellence, the Reference and Citation Generator and the Center for Writing Excellence. Learning Math can be difficult in a traditional classroom in and of itself but learning Math in a distance learning environment can even more challenging than that. I say this because in a traditional environment the instructor is right there to guide you thought something you might find hard to understand. There is you face to face contact or one on one time with the instructor in a distance so to compensate for that the Axia College online program provide a wonderful Center for Math Excellence (CME). In CME there are tutorials to guide a student through a particular set of math problem and they say the practice makes perfect. In addition the CME helps students address their fears about math so they can overcome them,
