Brandon Tucker January 27, 2010 MISM 3301 Questions RQ  #1-3 Chapter 2 1.  What are business processes?  How are they related to information systems? Business processes are a list of tasks or activities that are to be performed in  order to determine the most collaborative way to collect data, information,  and knowledge in order for the business to be profitable. Processes must be refreshed, revised, and continually followed as they are  essential and determining whether an organization is able to execute its  business principals on a daily functioning basis.  Using information systems  businesses are able to automate various processes which contributes to a  more streamlined company. 2. How do systems serve the various levels of management in a business? The TPS system provides payroll, inventory, and orders.  The system tracks  the day to day transactions needed for the business to function.
