Jason Murray Economics 2301 11/08/2010 Name of article: Brief Rebound in Jobs ultimately hurt recovery Source of article: Dallas Morning News Date of Publication: November 2, 2010 Even though the title of the article indicated that it was addressing the current unemployment situation, it actually quite a few economic issues currently being faced by the Obama administration. The title of the article is what got my attention. I immediately thought to myself: “How could a decrease in unemployment possibly be a bad thing?” The article went on to talk about the situation about a year ago on December 3 when the Bureau of Labor Statistics sent an advance copy of the next morning’s job report to the White House. It showed that job losses had all but stopped in November (last year) after two years of steady declines. Everybody in the White House, including the President were extremely happy about the report, even though it was a little premature for celebration. The decrease in joblessness and the optimism in the White House would continue for the next
