South Africa had 3 capitals prior to 1994. They have since been consolidated. They reflected the contradictions in the Apartheid system. Botswana had one of the highest HIV/AIDS rates in Africa, Swaziland has now passed Botswana in HIV/AIDS infectees. Polygamy is legal and accepted in Swaziland. The European influence in Africa was confined to the coastal areas for a long period of time.
