What makes America so unique? The one thing that makes this country so unique is the diversity. There is such a large variety of different races of people. Many of the races consist of Hispanic Americans. Another great thing about America is no matter how many different cultures, religions, and races we have, we always find a way to make it all come together in harmony for the most part. Some of the different Hispanic American groups that make up America include Cuban Americans, Central and South Americans, Puerto Rican Americans, and Mexican Americans. Hispanic Americans may share a common language but they are very different from one another. Many people do not realize how long Mexican Americans have been in this country. The truth is that Mexican Americans have been in America for many years. They were even living in the western and southern regions of the continent before the United States was even founded. Mexican Americans are sometimes referred as “Chicanos” Mexican Americans are known for

being migrant workers. Now instead of being known as a migrant worker, they are known as immigrants. Generally, the first language for Mexican Americans is Spanish, although through bilingual education more Mexican Americans are learning to speak English and use English as their main language. Family is very vital and important to the Mexican Americans, it is their core. Generally their families are large and extended to families are just as close and loved as immediate family members. The wife in the marriage is usually secondary to the husband. The husband is the decision maker and the main person to bring in the money to support the family. The most popular religion among Mexican Americans is Catholicism. Although Catholicism is
