RESPIRATION Hemoglobin picks up OXYGEN Iron is important * Major organ of gas exchange = lungs Hemoglobin doesn’t carry nitrogen CIRCULATORY Oxygen full blood (from alveoli) from lung , pulmonary vein (carry blood to heart), left atrium, left ventricle, aorta, body, goes back into right atrium, right ventricle, pulmonary artery, lung, dumps off CO2, picks up O2, pulmonary vein Valves : AV – in between atrium and ventricle Semilunar – heart 8 amino acids anti b odies : produced by B CELLS – circulate around blood exposed to antigen.. B CELL makes antibodies so next time antigen invades, antibodies ready to go. Circulate in blood = humoral defense T CELLS – made in thymus- attack invading cells, viruses, cancer cells Helper t cells – you get a cancerous cell… secretes abnormal proteins.. proteins go to antigen presenting cell… helper t cells recognize that this is foreign … produce clone of t cells to recognize foreign protein and attack. Helper- recognize foreign protein … ramp up defenses Cytotoxin – kills cancerous cells Autoimmune disease- lupus, multiple sclorosis, arthritis FSH / LH – stimulate gonads Know glands – what hormones they produce Nervous system Neuron – fundamental unit, three parts: axon, dendrite (gain info), cell body Myelean sheath- covers axon. Insulates it Sensory neurons – detect everything

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
