Calculate the maximum value of bending moment in the beam, and state the position where this occurs. Question 2 A simply-supported beam spans 6 metres, and supports both a concentrated point load of 100 kN at its mid-span position and a uniformly distributed load of 25 kN/m across its entire span as shown in Figure 2. Calculate the maximum value of shear force present within the beam. At which point does this maximum value occur?
