Case 1 Ultra Mart, Inc. 1. I think that Glenn Golden’s initial demographic research was fine, but it was a good idea  for him to talk to several marketing research firms for help with his demographic data.  Glenn gathered information relating to the population around the “baby-boom” era, and  how the population segment was moving rapidly into the household formation stage.  Glenn had calculated that the oldest of the “baby-boomers” were nearly over 30 and how  the rate of marriage was still growing. At the age of 18 and older, Glen discovered that  over 66 percent are married, as well as over half of all married woman are working  outside of home. Just from this one set of demographics Glenn collected, I think it  sounds like a viable segment for his grocery business with this set of data. With over 66  percent of woman being married and most likely having kids, as well as half of women  working, Glens grocery business sounds like a great viable business since these  demographics show that woman are preoccupied and do not have enough hours in the
