Sarah Yim American Lit 2328 918 Maggie, a Girl of the Streets – Recognizing Naturalism Maggie, a Girl of the Streets is a novel which takes place in the late 19 th century, involving a lower class New York family and discusses their lives through hard times. The main character Maggie, struggles among a household of her abusive mother and an equal menace of a brother.
