Morale o Low morale o Mutiny o Increase in drug use o PTSD o Fragging= turn on commanding officer—kill them o Lack of support from the home front Lots of U.S deaths Before the photo Piece of Cold War puzzle Similar to experience in Korea 1858=France claimed Vietnam as a colony  o Area was rich in rice, rubber, coal, and iron ore 1945=Japan lost WWII and Vietnam, which it occupied o Vietnam was free from foreign domination for the first time in  modern history o Revolutionary movement to expel the Japanese and the French  was led a communist Ho Chi Minh o Overwhelmingly, the general populace supported him
