Ethics Essay Ethics and engineering are two key things that go hand in hand with one another. Mechanical and Aerospace are one of the groups of engineers that face ethical problems every day. One of these ethical problems that they face have to be automotive safety versus cost. They decide if enough money has been spent on the safety of the automobile. Another problem they continuously face has to be concerned with gasoline. They need to decide if they should continue to work on regular cars, or if they should make a complete transition and began to work on new technology that will not hurt the environment. Another big problem that will arise is the perfection of a project versus time constraints that are given. All of these issues are ethical problems that a Mechanical or Aerospace engineer might face. Safety has become a very important issue when it comes to automobiles. Moreover safety comes first in terms of anything else. This is due to facet of the many car accidents that occur every year. In 2008 according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there was over 25,000 passenger fatalities, and over 2,000,000 people injured in car accidents 1 . These numbers are high enough to show that safety should not have a cost constraint on it. There should be as much money spent as required to make sure that the people driving the automobile will be as safe as possible. On the other hand though,
