Georgia Peach Season 2010 PR Fort Valley, Georgia. – May 27, 2010 - It’s peach season in Georgia, time to enjoy some of the most amazingly delicious fruit crop in many years. This year the popular Peach County, GA growers at Pearson Farm are reporting some of the best tasting fruit crop in years. The chill hours during the winter months, which needed to make peaches grow to their best flavor and size, were absolutely plentiful and ideal for the crop. Spring this year has also been relatively mild, bringing just the right amount of nourishing rain without the damaging hail or late season freezing issues of last year. Betty Hotchkiss, manager of Pearson Farms operations, says that tours of the peach packing process are now open to the general public. Pearson Farm completes peach packing in an over 100 year old schoolhouse known as the “Old Zenith School” that has now been converted to a peach packing shed.
