What communication problems are contributing to the patients lack of compliance? How might the caregiver improve communication in a way that would promote patient compliance? Scenario 1 The compliance issue that is apparent is the patients mother is irritated due to the fact the doctor excused himself to take a phone call. The one thing that I see is lacking with the patients compliance is the doctor did not return to the exam room and we the patients mother seen him in the hall the doctor handed her the scripts while still on the phone. He stated is you have any further question call me. The doctor could have said excuse me I have to take this call and I will be right back to finish answering to concerns and questions you may have.
