Maslow Hierarchy Theory- why and how people try to satisfy needs through behaviors through work. Expectancy Theory- employees work because they expect to be rewarded for their work. Goal setting Theory- encourages employees to achieve goals and should be challenging, specific, measurable and have a time frame. Equity Theory- only achieves a goal if they will be rewarded equally and fairly. Job Enrichment theory- motivated by increasing responsibility, develop new skills, abilities, and giving more tasks (Jones 2007). Sheet's was motivated by the job enrichment theory she says in the paragraph ‘We want to get it right with our costumers”. She wanted to better her company’s job skills and abilities; she did this by sending workers to special classes on moving people. The Maslow Hierarchy theory was incorporated with Sheets she said she had “the entrepreneur bug” she had the desire to satisfy her need to see if she could succeed at her own company (Jones 2007). I think Sheets had the supportive approach because
