Common Reason for Absences In my research I came across a common factor in both schools Truman and Jackson. On May 19 th the schools had a battle of the bands at this point it seems plausible that the bands contracted the cold during their interaction at Battle of The Bands. Most of the absent students exhibited the same symptoms stomach ache, head ache, fever, diarrhea and vomiting. The absent students are mostly band members there was a kid with a broken leg and another gone on a family vacation. Testable Hypothesis 1. My first Hypothesis would be that the problem is the West Nile Virus. It is possible the kids all got bit by a mosquito at the battle of the Bands. If the children got bit by a mosquito they could have contracted the west Nile virus and passed it on to other children.

2. Another Hypothesis is that the kids ate at a local diner and contracted food poison from unsanitary conditions. The restaurants that where found had
