Experimental Analysis of System Response The Purpose of the Experiment Our aim in the experiment is to compare analyzed responses of second order system – as RLC (resistance, enductance and the capacity elements connected in series) circuit – with the theoretical results. In the experiment, a step input is applied to obtain the time response and a sine function is applied for frequency response of the system. Introduction Response of a dynamical system has two parts, transient response and steady-state response. The steady-state response of a dynamical system to a sinusoidal input is called “Frequency Response”. On the other hand transient response is studied in time domain using step, impulse or ramp functions. In our experiment time response and frequency response of a second order dynamic system will be analyzed. Theoretical Basis The following equipments were used during the experiment; Oscilloscope Signal Generator
