Secondary Growth Secondary Growth Secondary Growth Control of plant growth Definitions Definitions Morphogenesis Growth Differentiation Determination Secondry growth Competency Growth Cell division by itself does not constitute growth. Growth is an irreversible increase in size by a combination of cell division and cell elongation . Morphogenesis (Greek word for shape & origin) During growth and development plant assume a particular shape/form. This process is known as Morphogenesis What determines Morpholog? Plane of cell division and expansion The plane of cell division defines morphology Differentiation The process by which cells with identical genetic material become different from one another. Differentiation is controlled by: 1- Gene expression Companion cell, sieve tube element, and paranchyma cells are derived from the same mother cell but due to differential gene expression they have become distinct from each other.other....
