In a book review about Theodore, it writes:” He is one of the very best social critics of our age”. After reading his articles, I think he is really a good writer who has a lot of great work. The reasons why he can write a good essay, I think we can get inspiration from the following aspects. First, Theodore was able to make full use of various materials. Theodore's all in the article,  we can easily find a wealth of materials. Because he had the opportunity to visit the country, was a doctor and psychiatrist. For  instance, in “The Uses of Corruption”, when he pointed out how poor Italy was after World  War II, he compared the Italy to Cuba. He wrote:” I first went to Italy as a boy in 1960, the year of the Rome Olympics, and it was still recognizably a poor country. The standard of living was not very different from that of Cuba before the overthrow of Batista”. In order to explain the  great changes of Italy for decades, he carried out the history of Britain and Italy to compare.  He said:” In 1950, the British owned 12 times as many cars as did Italians: now the Italians own
