HISTORY
:
This 29-year old Caucasian female, new to the practice, is referred by Greg Farrow.
She is here to discuss aesthetic rhinoplasty. Patient presents with complaints of trauma to the
dorsum of her nose on the right side, which left her with a buckle or bump in the cartilage. She
also has a mild hump and an initial impression of some drooping of her tip, she also has fullness
of the region, the upper lateral cartilages and the tip, which makes it appear somewhat wide. She
was told she has a deviated septum. Her main interests are “making my nose
narrower” and
“taking away the bump.”
PHYSICAL EXAMINATION
: The
patient has some animated flaring of her nostrils, which
makes them look prominent in the frontal view; and she appears to have some notching in the
nostrils on the lateral view. On lateral, one sees the dorsal hump and the bump on the right side
as well as widening in the lower third of the central part of the nose. She notes no specific
