Monday, November 22, 2010 This study guide is revisable until Dec. 2. Middle East Politics Study Guide for Final Examination Exam Date: Dec. 6-8, 2010 (ONLINE) The FE will be worth 80 points. The exam will consist of two parts: part one (worth 40 points) will have a combination of 16 MC/FI/PM/TF questions (worth 40); and, part two (worth 40 points) will have 4 essay questions. In part one, you will be asked to choose the MOST accurate answer. As for the essays, your answers will be expected to be thorough. The length of each answer should be between 1-2 pages. The topics below should help you prepare. The final covers all the linked material on D2L as well as textbook chapters 4, 7, 9-23, 26, 30-31. TOPICS: 1. Arab-Israel Conflict; Balfour Declaration; 1947 Plan for Partition of Palestine; Intifada; issues of conflict; Jerusalem; settlements. One important fact here is that the conflict (and its issues) has undergone a major transformation since 1967 June War one that has changed the zero-sum nature of the conflict and made it easier to sovle.
