Tourette Syndrome, which usually starts to occur in childhood years, is a brain condition where a person makes sounds or movements uncontrollably. These sounds and movements consist of coughing or twitching of various body parts. These are called tics. Tics usually start to occur at the age of 2. As the person becomes a teenager, these tics tend to occur less often. Although they can continue into adulthood, they are less severe than in childhood.
