Written by Thomas Graff, “the Locations of Wal-Mart and Kmart Supercenters: Contrasting Corporate Strategies” was published in the Professional Geographer in 1998. Graff targets students in geography and economics specialized in spatial patterns as she compares the superstores of Wal-Mart and Kmart and their successes and failures depending on the location of a store. Graff focuses mainly on the effectiveness of the locations, and what Wal-Mart had done to be successful, while Kmart had not been as successful. Graff also determines the different strategies that were taken in becoming a successful superstore. Some positive aspects of the paper were its graphs, and maps which was an effective way of showing statistics very well.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
