The biological perspective maintains that there are factors within the human body that have the ability to cause the paraphilia. Research has showed that paraphilias maintain a higher sex drive, although there is not solid evidence as to why these people have such a reaction to their sex drives. Hypersexual desire is also a causal factor in which the sex drive is elevated. The biological perspective pertaining to paraphilias subscribes to the idea that adequate treatments will become available by linking biological factors to it.
