The cause of an erection is due to enhanced blood flow into the corpora cavernosa. Additionally, the bladder blocks off in order to prohibit any mixing of urine with semen. The scrotum also experiences tightening. Occurs through either physical or psychological stimulation; this causes the blood vessels in the vagina to dilate. Enhanced flow of blood escalates within the vaginal walls; this results in the ‘sweating’ of fluid that establishes the vagina’s lubrication.
