Procedure: - At the beginning of PC boot (following power-on or Restart), observe a prompt on the display that allows entry to the Setup Program (this is the CMOS memory access). It may be function key “F2”. - Make a list of the main options available on the menu - List which options are noted as “cannot be changed” and explain why they would be designated this way. - List the order of the boot devices - List the processor type, memory configuration, and PCI configuration - Leave the CMOS setup program, and be sure not to save any changes - Check the maintenance record (if available) as follows: o Shutdown the PC o Unplug the keyboard from the PC o Apply power to the PC and let it boot up to the login or initial Windows screen o Plug the keyboard back in o Restart the computer and enter the Setup Program
