ISM 3011 Exam 2 Study Guide T4 Decision Making Using Excel Concept of Goal Seek : goal seek is an analytical function, which allows a value in a formula to be adjusted in order to reach a desired result or answer. The goal seek feature can eliminate unnecessary calculations. It also repeatedly tries new values in the variable cell to find a solution to the problem. Ch 10 ERP and Collaboration ERP systems collect data from across an organization and correlate the data generating an enterprise-wide view. At the heart of all ERP systems is a database . Core ERP Components : traditional components included in most ERP systems and they primarily focus on internal operations. Accounting and Finance : Manage accounting data and financial processes within the enterprise with functions such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and asset management. Production and Materials Management : Handle the various aspects of production planning and execution such as demand forecasting, production scheduling, job cost accounting, and quality control. Human Resources : Track employee information including payroll, benefits, compensation, and performance assessment, and assure compliance with the legal requirements of multiple jurisdictions and tax authorities. Extended ERP Components : extra components that meet the organizational needs not covered by the core components and primarily focus on external operations. Business Intelligence : Describes information that people use to support their decision making efforts. Customer Relationship Management: Involves managing all aspects of a customer’s relationship with an organization to increase customer loyalty and retention and an organization’s profitability. Supply Chain Management : Involves the management of information flows between and among stages in a supply chain to maximize total supply chain effectiveness and profitability. E-business : Means conduction business on the Internet, not only buying and selling, but also serving customers and collaborating with business partners. o E-logistics : manages the transportation and storage of goods. o E-procurement : Is the business-to-business (B2B) purchase and sale of supplies and services over the Internet. CRM: Customer Relationship Management Acquire: contact management, direct marketing, etc. Enhance: on-line customer service tools Retain: customer loyalty programs SCM: Supply Chain Management 1
