We have a dual court system in America, which shares the power between federal court system and state court system. Due to federalism, both the federal government and each of the state governments have their own court systems. According to the reading I can say that the federal court system seems to have more power than the state court system. In the federal court system judges are selected by the president and approved by the senate. This might be one of the reasons of more power. It is a human nature if you get power over someone or something, you will take advantage of it. Personally, I believe that we cannot actually blame to federal court system for their decision . Congress passed the Espionage Act of 1918, prescribing fines of up to ten thousand dollars and prison sentences of up to twenty years for a whole list of vaguely defined antiwar activities.
