Unformatted text preview: STARTING A CLUB Here we recap some of the points already made and expand on some of the areas we have covered. Naming the club There is no hard and fast rule, or procedure, as to when the name of the club is discussed and agreed. However, we suggest it is done as an early item at the inaugural meeting because It usually provokes a number of weird and wonderful suggestions as well as a few smiles which will help to create a relaxed atmosphere. Don't forget, as soon as you have decided on I name, register it on the National Register of Investment Clubs at wwaroShareC/ubs. co.uk. Despite your best efforts, the name might not be original (we already have at least a score ’Midas' investment clubs) but that doesn't matter because you will receive a unique registration number from FIG. The first informal get-together Usually an investment club starts because a few acquaintances find that they have a common interest in Investing in stocks and sharele-iis may be no more than a theoretical intent. none of them having actually taken the plunge to date. You need not find all the potential members yourself. Mention the idea to a couple of people and they in turn will approach friends of theirs who they think would be suitable to joint It is suggested that each member of the group should read the section on ‘Starting a Club’on the PIC website and then decide whether they wish to go ahead. If the answer is”yes’1 then the next step is to get together for an Informal chat. Three key issues should be agreed upon at this stage. Although once the club is inaugurated it will run on democratic lines, it is quite reasonable for the founders to decide initially: - Who else should be invited to join the club? - Approximately what level of financial commitment should be involved? That is. the monthly subscription and any initial lumpsum investment. - Where will be a good place to meet? - You can make some preliminary enquiries about suitable venues. As events progress, these decisions may be varied by the members but at the outset it is up to the founders to decide what sort of club they wish to establish. 0: be 2008 to r ProShare Investment Club THE MANUAL ...

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
