Where the Red Fern Grows Adopted by Fabian Soto There was a boy named Billy. He wanted some hound pups. He worked twenty-four hours a day. He even waited two long years. He told his grandpa to order the pups. He kept it a secret from his parents. Billy has two sisters. Grandpa worked at a general store. He worked so hard. Now you know who Billy is. Billy wanted those pups. He waited two long years of hard work. Even during the Great Depression, he was able to save up money. He saved up fifty dollars, to get his pups for hunting. (Repeat twice) Billy ran away from home.
