Under the File tab on the Katalyst site one can find notes for the lectures, sample exams, check figures, solutions to problems, etc. Access to the SharePoint discussion board is also through the Katalyst site. MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR CLASS Two items must be purchased for the course—a textbook and access to Homework Manager (HM). Detailed information about where one can purchase either/both items is on the Katalyst website in the folder entitled: 201-REQUIRED TEXT AND MATERIALS. 1. Textbook 2. Homework Manager (HM) Managerial Accounting: Creating Value in a Dynamic Business Environment , 8 th Edition, by Ronald W. Hilton. (A different edition will not have the correct problems.) Homework Manager is an online website which provides students with instantaneous grading as well as suggested solutions. Students must also download the weekly lecture notes from the Katalyst website.

Page 2 of 20 GETTING HELP WITH THE MATERIALS There are three sources of help with understanding the material and/or solving the assigned homework problems: Monday review/help sessions, nightly office hours, and the SharePoint course discussion board. Please do not e-mail questions about the course material to your TA or the professor. 1. Monday review/help session Every Monday from noon-1:00 PM Professor Thoman will hold a review/help session. Through Monday, October 4, the sessions will be in RAWL 2058; after that date, the sessions will be in RAWL 2070.
