Money Social prob in contmp society September 28, 2010 Writing Assignment 3 Some sociological theorists suggest that population growth results from pervasive poverty and the subordinate position of women in many less-developed countries. Do you agree or disagree. Explain your answer. I agree with sociological theorists, poverty has led to a vast amount of population growth and the subordinate position of women in many less-developed countries has in impact on the massive population growth as well. Many women in less-developed countries are considered as no more then a breeder and a house mad and are not even allowed to place her opinion in any matter. According to IFPRI,  ( INTERNATIONAL FOOD POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE), “Pervasive poverty In Bangladesh, pervasive poverty has kept generations of families from sending their children to school, and without education, their children's future will be a distressing echo of their own. Many children from poor families in Bangladesh do not attend school either because their families cannot afford books and other school materials, or because the children contribute to their family's livelihood and cannot be spared.” 1
