Included in this report are the results of our preliminary scheduling. In order to create an effective schedule, the key activities of the project need to be determined. When looking at our scope of the project the main tasks were gathered: acquisition of our facility, the purchasing of data center equipment, installing the data center equipment, outfitting the building for our electrical needs, and hiring competent staff to run the data center. The analysis of our main tasks leads to the proposed project schedule which follows below. Time will be saved on the completion of the project by the strategic scheduling of activities such as beginning the acquisition process of our facility and beginning the employee hiring process at the same time. Also outfitting the building for the power requirements can be started at the same time as the initial procurement of equipment stage. The successful completion of the M-2 data center project depends on following the schedule performance plan. If the plan is followed the company will not experience a completion date later than the date determined below. The solution to data center needs for FRU is a well scheduled project plan. This will expand the possible locations for our data center. In order to find a location the realtor services of Louis Group Properties will be utilized. Secondly, a data center cannot become operational without actually having data center equipment. Ample time is needed for the procurement and installation of the data center equipment. It takes time to go through the proper channels and order the equipment needed to operate the data center. In the order process an IBM zEnterprise System mainframe, 20 IBM Bladecenter E Chassis, five IBM HS22 Blade servers, network equipment, office equipment, and a cooling system must be purchased. Prices must be assessed and the final approval to move ahead with the equipment selected in
