Title IX has been called a lot of things, from “revolutionary” to a “quota system” to “unnecessary”. 1. What do you think sports in the United States would be like if Title IX was never enacted? (remember to support your ideas with examples from the readings, movies, and/or class discussion) 2. How has Title IX impacted you personally? 3. Explain your ideas/solutions to achieving gender equity for men and women in school (high school and college) sports. If Title IX was never enacted, I think women’s sports would be ever further off the map than they are now. Before Title IX was passed, women’s sports were barely recognized and were hardly competitive. Women weren’t encouraged to play, and were even deterred from it. I think men’s sports would be even more emphasized than they are now and that the US would be even more male dominated. Women weren’t encouraged to be competitive on the playing field and I think that would have carried over even further into the workplace.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
