Name: Shom Bhandari Instruction's name: Prof. Zhang Class: LTEA 120A Date: 10/7/2010 The Start of life Jianping and Lilian thought that they have started their new life but unfortunately, the start of their new life in urban culture in China in 1930s was the begging of their end. Jianping and Lilian are the two main characters in Chinese film Plunder of Peach and Plum made in 1934. Plunder of Peach and Plum is seen as a reflection of many things that was happing in China at that period; mainly the corruptions in urban area, the gender role, and ideology of prewar. Besides the influence of social political agenda in the nation, change in technical side and acting style can be seen in this film. By comparing with other film The Goddess made in the same year, this film shows that the rapid change in acting style in Chinese film. The acting style in Plunder of Peach and Plum is different than the some of the early 1930s or up to 1920s film. There is no opera style acting; actors are not looking at the camera.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
