This is the rest of the muscles that we did
not get to on quiz 4.
Pectoral girdle and upper arm:
rotator cuff muscles: TERES MINOR, SUPSCAPULARIS, INFRASPINATUS,
SUPRASPINATUS; superstabilizer of
humerus/glenoid joint: long head of BICEPS. Other
scapula muscles: TERES MAJOR, RHOMBOIDS (MAJOR,MINOR, attach to spine and
scapula), , TRAPEZIUS, SERRATUS ANTERIOR, PECTORALIS MINOR, AND
Prime movers of upper arm
: DELTOID, LATISSIMUS DORSI, AND PECTORALIS
MAJOR abduct, extend, and adduct/flex, respectively)
Notice that there are minor origins on
scapula for lats. and delts, but several other points of origin as well, and NO attachment of
PEC. MAJOR to scapula (sounds like a good exam question).
ALL of these insert on the
humerus, of course.
: BICEPS (inserts on radius) and BRACHIALIS (inserts on ulna
Hand and wrist muscles
: remember, ANATOMICAL position, palms up and thumbs out
makes the ANTERIOR forearm the FLEXOR part.

Also remember that many of the flexors Originate from
the MEDIAL EPICONDYLE OF THE
