Part A JFK and Cold War were the keywords used to research the topic of which to research for this project. John F. Kennedy served as a Senator and a President for the Cold War. Throughout all of his congressional time he was against communism. JFK was close to Joseph McCarthy and was a supporter of the “tough on communism” issue. Johns F. Kennedy believed in McCarthyism which he used in all of his campaigns for Senator and for the Presidency (McAdams). John F. Kennedy’s work on the labor committee led to the conviction of a communist union official. Once elected, as a congressman, JFK supported all of America’s activities in waging the Cold War (McAdams). An article written on the JFK library website states “ Senator John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard M. Nixon both pledged to strengthen American military forces and both promised a tough stance against the Soviet Union and international communism.” John F. Kennedy’s inaugural stressed the importance of the free world against communism; "pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any
