Unformatted text preview: MPG= Minut es Per Game FG=Field Goals AST= Assists Houston Scarborough Prof. Sheard, Math 111 10/14/09 An Analysis of NBA Champions I ntroduction The purpose of this project is to discover the parallels between Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal’s first 25 games of their first NBA championship seasons. Information gathered from Basketball-Reference.com allowed me to develop statistics to understand how the players came to be their championship seasons respective MVPs. By comparing Minutes Per Game (MPG), Field Goals (FG), and Assists Per Game (APG) I was able to find standard deviation and correlation of each variable. I believe these variables will help to see inside the players’ abilities in a wholistic, team aspect.
