Purpose Audience Tone Content Manager The purpose would be to inform the manager we did not make our financial goal and will not be receiving the bonus. Manager: It’s important to communicate with the manager in a formal capacity when informing on a type of status. In this case the information in a not positive one, so an effort should be made to end the message on a positive note. The tone would be professional. Manager, I am informing you that our team missed our financial goal that was set for us. I am confident though that we will not only make our goal next quarter, but we will do our best to exceed it. Team The purpose would be we did not make our financial goal and will not be receiving bonuses.
