(25 points) Conditioned air is to be generated by dehumidifying outside air (37 o C, 80% relative humidity) to 25 o C and 30% RH in a two-step process. The outside air is first passed through a chiller/condenser to reduce the temperature. Air leaving the chiller is saturated with water vapor and is then passed through a heater where it is reheated to the desired final temperature. (a) What is the operating temperature of the chiller? (b) How many lb m of water is removed from the chiller for every 100 lb m of outside dry air fed to the system? The average molecular weight of air is 29 g/mol.
