Solution: An Ungrouped Frequency Distribution Table would look like the following: Observation Tally Frequency 2 | 1 4. | 1 7 | 1 8 | | 2 10 | 1 12 | 1 14 | 1 17 | 1 18 | | 2 19 | 1 22 | 1 23 | 1 24 | 1 27 | 1 29 | | 2_ 18 c) Histogram Solution: A Histogram takes the figures and intervals that are depicted in the Grouped Frequency Distribution Table. d) From the same sample develop the Mean, Mode, Median and Standard Deviation. Solution: - Mean – Add up all the observations: This totals 291/18 = 16 1/6 - Mode – There are three modes, 8, 18 and 29 . Remember, the minimum # of observations of a particular number in order to qualify it as a mode is 2. It must show up at least twice within the sample. - Median – Take the total number of observations, 18; divide it by two (2) and you get 9. Go back to the left side of the sample and count to the 9 th number as you go left to right. This number is “17”. Add this number to the next number in sequence, “18” and divide the total of these two numbers by “2”. It should look like the following:
